Three Impressive Nissan Technologies Explained

Nissan has long been recognized for its advanced safety and driver assistance technologies. The Japanese manufacturer recently gave us the ProPilot system, but this is just the beginning of the active safety technologies available in Nissan vehicles. Let's take a closer look with three particularly impressive technologies.

Intelligent Emergency Braking System with Pedestrian Detection

This is a long name to describe a technology that is very simple in its operation. The pedestrian detection emergency braking system is capable of monitoring the road in front of your vehicle and detecting another vehicle that suddenly brakes or a pedestrian crossing the street without warning. A signal will be given if any of these events occur, and if you do not react your Nissan will apply the brakes to prevent a collision.

Smart Forward Collision Warning

This system is able to anticipate the dangers of the road much like the intelligent emergency braking system does. Intelligent forward collision warning technology can monitor up to two vehicles in front of you. This means that you will not only know if the vehicle in front brakes suddenly, but you will be notified if the vehicle ahead of the vehicle ahead of you is also applying the brakes. Very few cars in the world are able to anticipate the behavior of two vehicles.

Cross Traffic Alert System

This system allows you to reverse with your vehicle with confidence by warning you of an audible signal if another vehicle approaches perpendicularly. If you have ever tried to back out into a crowded parking lot, you know that it is sometimes difficult to see another vehicle approaching because of the cars on each side. The cross-traffic alert system makes things a lot easier.
