Nissan Shows the Possibilities of Electric Supercars with the Hyper Force Concept

At the recent Tokyo Mobility Show, Nissan took the stage to unveil the Hyper Force Concept, its vision of the future of electric supercars. Here are a few details about this impressive display of technology and design.

A powerful solid-state battery

At the heart of the Hyper Force Concept is a solid-state battery that showcases this technology, often touted as the “next big thing” in the world of electric vehicles. Compared to traditional liquid-based batteries used at the moment, solid-state batteries are more power-dense and less affected by cold temperatures, while also being potentially cheaper to manufacture and safer in case of an accident. In the Hyper Force Concept, this battery is capable of delivering an output of 1,000 kW that is channelled to the road by the Nissan e-4ORCE all-wheel control powertrain.

An advanced aerodynamic design

The Nissan Hyper Force Concept also features a very distinctive design that makes its performance level apparent while also helping improve its handling and range by directing the airflow in ways to increase downforce to keep the tires glued to the road in turns as well as reducing unwanted drag that holds performance and range back.

A host of visionary technologies

The Nissan Hyper Force Concept features a lot of new technologies that could make their way to production vehicles in the coming years. For example, the concept features carbon-fibre bucket seats are designed to provide support for spirited driving while remaining comfortable for long scenic drives. A four-point safety harness is used in place of the traditional seat belts and the two available drive modes, R and GT, feature their own graphic designs for the digital instrument cluster. A LIDAR is also used to make the Hyper Force Concept into a semi-autonomous vehicle when the driver wants to relax. In addition, this concept features a virtual reality mode that can be accessed with a special helmet while the car is stationary, allowing players to practice their driving skills by racing against online competitors.
