The e-4ORCE Powertrain in the 2023 Nissan Ariya is on Ward’s List of 10 Best Propulsion Systems

WardsAuto recently unveiled its list of “10 best Engines & Propulsion Systems” for 2023, on which the e-4ORCE powertrain found in the Nissan Ariya is featured.

Available on the Evolve, Platinum, and Première trim levels, this powertrain uses two electric motors to deliver power to all four wheels of the vehicle.

In standard form, the e-4ORCE drivetrain generates 335 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque, which is more than many of the Ariya’s competitors. For drivers who want even more power, another version delivering 389 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque is included in the Platinum and Première versions.

This generous amount of power and torque have both been praised by the panel of judges, who have tested 32 all-new or heavily revised powertrains this year.

In addition, the WardsAuto team also mentioned the Ariya’s long range of 330 to 428 kilometers and the smoothness of its powertrain as other deciding factors that have earned it a place among the 10 best new powertrains of the year.

Not just about power, the e-4ORCE powertrain in the Nissan Ariya improves the vehicle’s capabilities and safety, especially in adverse weather conditions. This is due to the great rapidity with which the Ariya is able to modulate power to each wheel using both motors and individual wheel brakes.

As the newest and most technologically advanced Nissan model ever offered, the Ariya also benefits from all of the latest developments from the brand, such as the ProPILOT Assist 2.0 driver assistance system.

In addition to offering the same semi-autonomous driving capabilities as other versions of the PROPilot Assist system found in other Nissan models, this version adds the ability to perform automated lane changes on the highway when coming up behind a slower-moving vehicle. Furthermore, PROPilot Assist 2.0 also allows the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel in certain circumstances, making for a more relaxing drive.

This is not the first time a Nissan powertrain has been awarded by WardsAuto, since the company’s engines have now featured on the “10 Best Engines & Powertrain Systems” list twenty times since its inception in 1995, including the LEAF’s electric drivetrain back in 2011.
